Owner, Michelle, is celebrating her birthday!
Golden Age Management and organizations across the City, Province and even Country have a lot planned to celebrate seniors over the month of June.
See below to learn about the age-friendly activities that target overall health and well-being throughout the month of June. The following items are facilitated by Golden Age Management owner, Michelle Jamieson.
Seniors Month Celebrations
The Province of Ontario has announced that the 2024 theme is “Working for Seniors.”
It’s a time to recognize the hard work seniors have done all their lives to make Ontario into the great place it is today.
We are working for seniors by:
recognizing and celebrating their accomplishments and milestones.
funding Seniors Active Living Centre programs that promote wellness, social connections and education in communities across the province.
making it easier to find programs and services available for seniors in Ontario, including tax credits, health, caregiving, housing, transportation and staying safe.
The City of Brantford is celebrating Seniors month with the Healthy Aging Passport Program. The Healthy Aging Passport is a great opportunity for adults 55 years and over to try a wide variety of FREE activities offered by local community partners from June 3 – July 31, 2024. Become an Age-Friendly Champion by telling your friends, family, and neighbours about the Healthy Aging Passport.
Explore the Healthy Aging Passport calendar to discover free activities, including fitness classes, pottery workshops, crafting circles, presentations on technology, and more.
Active Aging Social Club
The June 7th session will be our third Active Aging Social Club and it's safe to say that it is really starting to take off! We have welcomed a number of new and returning individuals to the club, have shared wonderful discussions and connected to various other community resources and events. If you are brand new to the Active Aging Social Club, here's what you need to know:
Owner of Golden Age Management, Michelle, received funding from the Community Changemakers Program offered by the City of Brantford, in partnership with Wilfrid Laurier University in Fall 2023. This funding provided the foundations for a vision Michelle has: to offer an inclusive social group for older adults that is free, accessible, non-task based and hosted in a public space.
This club will be taking place on the first Friday of every month from 1:30p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Steve's Artisan Teas until the end of summer. The club will provide free teas and treats, as well as social prompts to break the ice among participants!
Attendance is by registration only, so please contact Michelle directly or sign up through the website by clicking here.
Due to a scheduling conflict, Michelle will not be in attendance for the June 7th session, but the Social Club will be hosted by three wonderful volunteers: Lana, Mary Jane and Pat.
Yoga Class: Meditation & Restorative
Registered Yoga Teacher, Michelle, continues to offer age-friendly yoga classes at Sacred Spaces in Brantford. Sacred Spaces Brantford is a wellness center, offering massage therapy and yoga classes. Starting in the month of June, Michelle will be exclusively offering the Thursday evening restorative class
The yoga studio offers classes daily for ANY BODY. This particular class is perfect for those wanting to destress and practice mindfulness. The class combines guided meditation and restorative postures to leave you feeling peaceful and at ease. You can sign up for the 'Sacred Soulful Thursdays' restorative class here.
Outdoor Seniors Social Club

These free programs promote healthy aging and social engagement amongst individuals aged 55 years and above. Golden Age Management will be hosting two social programs taking place at Mohawk Park. The City of Brantford will generously be covering the costs of coffee and treats.
